What this is

Growth Factory Studio builds companies. We are a team of AI-native builders and operators who create ventures. AI tooling sits inside how we ideate, validate, and build before we spin them out as companies.

The work moves in a loop. We generate and pressure-test ideas with AI, validate the survivors fast against real market signals, build the ones that hold, and spin them out as standalone companies. You will write code that carries an idea through the loop, from a rough concept to working software that real users use within weeks.

This role is for an engineer who already works AI-native. You reach for an AI coding agent the way other engineers reach for an IDE. You have used it to build and ship something real, and you can show what you built. On this team, that is not a bonus skill. It is how the studio operates, and you will be building alongside founders and operators who work the same way.

What you will do

You will work across the stack, from interface to back end, on products that go from idea to live in weeks. A typical month includes building a front-end from a rough prototype, standing up the API and data layer behind it, and wiring in third-party services like Slack, Notion, or Gmail.

You will orchestrate AI agents to do more than autocomplete. You will scope a task, direct an agent through it, review the result, and ship it. The bar is throughput and judgment, not lines typed by hand.

You will own features end-to-end. You take a problem, build the solution, test it, and put it in front of users. Senior engineers on the team unblock you; they do not babysit you.

Who you are

You have shipped something. A repo, a browser extension, a live app, a tool other people use. Solo or near-solo is what we want to see.

You are a generalist. React and TypeScript on the front end, a back-end language, and SQL behind it. You do not need to be an expert in all of it. You need to be dangerous across all of it and to close the gaps with AI tooling.

You are fluent with at least one AI coding agent, Claude Code or Cursor or equivalent, and you can explain how you use it to plan, build, and debug. We care more about how you think with the tool than which one you pick.

You move fast, and you are honest about what is broken. We would rather see a shipped thing with known rough edges than a perfect thing that never went live.

Current or recent students are welcome. We hire on demonstrated ability, not year or pedigree.

The screening test is the resume

We do not read resumes. The build is how we evaluate you. Before any interview, we ask for one thing you have made.

The build. In 48 hours, ship a small but working full-stack tool. Pick anything useful. A dashboard that pulls from a public API, an internal tool that summarizes a feed, a small agent that automates a task you actually do. It should run, not just compile.

The constraint. Build it with an AI coding agent driving most of the work. The point is to see how you direct the tool, not how fast you type.

What you submit.

  1. A link to the repo or a live deploy.

  2. A short walkthrough, five minutes or less, screen-recorded. Show the thing working, then show us how you used your AI agent to build it. The prompts you wrote, where it went wrong, and how you corrected it.

  3. Three sentences on what you would build next if you had another week.

We read every submission. We are looking for taste in what you chose to build, judgment in how you steered the agent, and honesty about the rough edges.

Logistics

This is a paid internship. Fully remote. Hours and start date are flexible, [confirm details].
